Jazzoo is the Kansas City Zoo’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and they go all out for this semi-formal event. It takes place at the zoo and features 70+ restaurants, live music, DJs and an open bar at every corner. Every year the Jazzoo Committee selects an animal as the central theme of the event, and in 2018 it was the stingray. The challenge was to elevate this drab, brownish-gray colored animal into a “whoot-whoot!” let’s-donate-to-a-worthy-cause aesthetic. By drawing on the color palette and textures of this animal’s natural environment, we were able to produce a look & feel that felt worthy of one the best nights in town while celebrating the stingray as the event’s central figure.
